A veritable Menu of Trail planning Services

Providing planning services for your future trails customized to your individual needs.

Project Strategy

After the initial concept development, many communities struggle to create a road map for taking their vision to a built project. We can help you develop that plan.

We can initially meet to review where you are at with the project’s life (a glimmer in your eye, full-fledged council support, etc.) and where you need assistance.

We can help you map what steps you will need to go through based on your specific trail project. Some critical components include potential project partners, funding exploration, and timeline development.

public Outreach

Whether general project branding, public involvement meetings, or assisting with materials for Public Involvement Meetings, Trail Strategies can help you get the word out.

We can create renderings, newsletters, FAQs, Powerpoint presentations, and displays for community events to “get the word out” for your trail project.

Fundraising

Trail Strategies can help identify potential grants, write applications, prepare materials for fundraising campaigns, and assist with grant administration.

We’ve experience working with WisDOT, WisDNR, community foundations, local service groups, and community-wide fundraising campaigns.

Depending on your fundraising needs. we can develop a multitude of strategies to work with grassroots and corporate campaigns to state and federal grants for your trail.

Master Planning & Site Review

Trail Strategies can work with you to vet your initial trail concept in development of a master plan.

Master planning typically involves more large-scale planning with significant public involvement whereas additional project investigation can review in more detail the proposed project to ensure that the concept is achievable for both construction and funding. Not all projects require both of these types of studies,, but they can be helpful in vetting public support, routing, and proactively planning for obstacles in development.

Training

Some communities are just looking for a crash course or two to get them going in the right direction. We offer many courses ranging from fundamentals in grant writing to tips for construction oversight of trails. See the list to the right for course topics.
